GREER, S.C. – The Dendy family has a new home today thanks to the efforts of Bank of America and Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County.
Located in Habitat Greenville’s latest community on Ruddy Creek Circle, the Dendy family was joined for the dedication ceremony by many of the volunteers who helped build their new home in the past few months. Camilia Dendy and her family also worked on the home with the volunteers.
“This means so much to us,” Dendy said. “My advice to anyone doing this. Be patient, take time to pursue your dreams and keep pushing.”
Stacy Brandon, president, Bank of America Upstate South Carolina says the bank has long supported Habitat affiliates locally and across the country. BofA has sponsored numerous home builds and projects in Greenville and other communities within the Upstate.
“Bank of America has a longstanding partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville, through financial support and the ongoing efforts of our employee volunteers from across the Upstate," said Brandon. “We are excited to assist the Dendy family and others through various Habitat efforts that help make affordable housing more accessible in our community.”
As part of Wednesday’s dedication, Dendy and her children each received a custom quilt from Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild; a painting from artist Carol Hoffman and a framed photo from a 2025 SC State Parks Artist in Residence Greg Hammond. Other partners and donors on this project included The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, Publix, and Complete PR.
LaTonya Phillips, President and CEO of Habitat Greenville, said the support from Bank of America is almost beyond words.
“Bank of America has helped families build and improve places to call home for decades now,” Phillips said. “This home today is more than one home. It is a connection to something greater. It is a connection to be shared between Bank of America and our families.”
