Slate of movies announced for 2026 Reedy Reels Film Festival

GREENVILLE, S.C.  -- Documentaries on basketball, a movie about falling in love on a park bench, a humorous story of park rangers chasing a litterer and many more are part of the cavalcade of offerings at this year’s Reed Reels Film Festival.


The 2026 Reedy Reels Film Festival will bring 85 films March 27 through 29 at the South Carolina Children’s Theatre, 153 Augusta Street, Greenville. It is sponsored by Piedmont Natural Gas and VisitGreenvilleSC. 


Tickets start at $10 for single film sessions and go through $135 or weekend passes. Tickets and the entire weekend schedule can be found here.

Friday Night Film Block:

The Best Solution: A 17 year-old high school student comes to terms with the loss of her closest friend, while trying to figure out a way to embrace the future.


The Artis Residence: When Vera, the matriarch of the quirky Artis family, decides to make a break with her old life, she finds she has to resort to unique measures.

 

Saturday 9:30 am: Mini Documentaries

Better Together: Furman's Championship Quest: This 5-episode limited docuseries earned a 2025 Southeast EMMY® nomination for Best Sports Documentary and a nomination at the 7th Annual Hashtag Sports Awards for Best Documentary.


Hoops of Heritage shows how Serbia’s turbulent past wars, sanctions, and hardships forged a national identity around basketball. From street-corner hoops to packed arenas, the game unites the country’s seven million people and fuels a talent pipeline that produced NBA stars like three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.


Saturday 1:15 pm: Drama Film Block

The 250Th: United States Marines, former and active, discuss their experiences as Marines and express their thoughts about the Marine Corps and its 250-year history.


Cascades: A couple walks towards a crossroads on the day of their 30th wedding anniversary. Marcus and Denise have been happily married for 30 years. Well, almost happily married. Can they overcome the one thing that just might tear them apart?


Real Journalism: Two strangers meet, fall in love, and then land their dream job. Will their relationship stand up to the pressures of work and life, or will they adapt to the changing times?


Have a Seat: A park bench anchors a love story told through key moments of a new relationship, becoming a reflection on how ordinary places can hold extraordinary memories.


Cereal: A mother and son share a special bond that carries them through a difficult diagnosis. As the family sets off on a grand adventure together, they realize what the best memories are made of. 


Hotel Cortex: This is a true one-take short film following Miles, a man navigating the shifting landscape of his memories as he searches for his wife. Inside this dreamlike hotel, each hallway leads him deeper into fragments of his life’s moments of love, loss, and forgotten time.


Temoria: A woman visits a botanist with the power to bend nature itself, and with her enchanted herb she journeys through space and time to reach her husband, only to learn that saving him may unleash a dangerous new future.


Good-Man: Set in suburban America, Henry Goodman fights to liberate his own mind and overcome his father's small-town ideas of being a good man.


Abducted and Alone: When a newlywed NASA engineer who dreams of going into space is abducted by aliens, her captors suddenly die. In trying to convince the ship’s computer system to send her home, she faces a dilemma which will determine not only her future but that of all Earth.


Go Fish: On his birthday, a lonely boy only wishes his goldfish were real, and when his goldfish comes to life, they have the best day ever.


Saturday 4:40 pm: Comedy Film Block

The Litterbug: Park Ranger Charlie and her young recruit Ranger Casey track down a serial litterer known as the Litterbug.


Screw Loose: When a critic unknowingly insults her, a writer takes him along for a wild chase to track down a stranger’s thieving ex-boyfriend and a good story.
